Now that the summer VBS season is over, there is only one event still going on until the end of August. Our kids are back in school, and Mom and Dad are happy the sumer is over.
I wanted to take the time to send a thank you to everyone who helped VBSfinder this season. Several of you helped get the word out, and some of you even placed links on your church websites. Some of you helped by sending comments and suggestions. I can’t thank you enough, and hope we met everyone expectations.
So as the season has come to a close, we will be replacing the home page of the website with a temporary banner letting everyone know to come back next summer when we have all the vacation bible schools around the country entered and ready to go.
During this off season, we will be working on the mapping function. We just weren’t satisfied how it turned out as we worked on it, so we didn’t activate that ability. Mapping should be fully available by next summer.
One of the features we have considered, is the ability to leave comments on previous events. This kind of feature is ubiquitous in todays social internet world, but I’m not sure how well it would be received by some. After all, if someone did not like your church’s bible school, it might create some hard feelings. On the other hand, it may help the coordinators and volunteers improve next season. If you have a feeling, either positive or negative, please send us a note.
We are also working on a new search page that is simplified and adds the ability to search by church or event name.
Also, we will have a banner add that anyone can place on their website or even attach to an email. Getting the work out that we are here is the toughest part of starting a new website. Greater exposure will be one of our top priorities for the coming year.
Have a Great Year!
Karl

After a suggestion by a user, an Online Registration field is now available when you enter a new event. This is a great place to put a link to your website that handles online registrations for your VBS.
If you have a suggestion, please send it our way!

It has been a great couple of weeks. We are fast approached the 2000 VBSs in VBSfinder.com. Thank you so much for everyone who has submitted their VBS in the past month. I was hoping the break the 2000 mark by the end of May and it looks like we are going to make it.
If you have not submitted your VBS for inclusion, please take just a moment to enter the information about your event so that other families can find you!

It’s been a lot of hard work, but a true labor of love, but VBSfinder.com is up and running! Since we just started, there aren’t many VBSs that you can search for. I just entered a few that I know about here in Arizona. So if you know of a vacation bible school, please take a minute to enter it so that others will be able to find it when searching.
I think it’s important to let everyone know that VBSfinder is not a for-profit commercial venture. VBSfinder was created because I really wish there was a website like it, and I can use my professional experience to fill that void. Everyone can use it for free.
When someone enters a new program (event), VBSfinder.com sends me an email so that I can review and verify each submission. Why all that fuss? If I didn’t, the site would become inundated with spam and useless links. Until I can establish an automated system, manual review will just have to do.
After each submission is verified, you will receive an email confirming that your event is officially published. In that email, you will see all the information that will be shown on the website about your program, along with some very important links. These links allow you to edit or remove your event, just in case there are any changes.
If you have any questions or comments, post below or use the contact form on the main website.

Just wanted to say a quick thank you for everyone who has stopped by VBSfinder.com. Sorry there is not much to see right now, but I have big plans for the next few weeks.
First, I would like to extend an invitation to submit any comments or suggestions you may have. Feel free to post them as comments below, or you can send me an email through the contact form on the VBSfinder website.
My goal is to make VBSfinder the easiest and quickest way to find vacation bible schools in your area. Just enter your city and state, or zipcode, or full address and VBSfinder will show you all the bible schools near you. Pretty simple, right?
The only help we need is from you. Face it, we don’t know every VBS around the country, so to make VBSfinder better, we ask you to give us a hand. When searching, if you know of a VBS that you don’t see in our list, please take just a moment to fill out a form telling us about the new VBS. You help us, but more importantly, you help others.
